2025 Resident Survey: What Did You Tell Us?
The 2025 resident survey was a new initiative to better understand our community. What did we learn—and why did we do it? Read on to find out.
Earlier this year, around the beginning of summer, we made the decision to conduct a resident survey to better understand our community. Over time, we had noticed that our community was changing and due to this we wanted to learn more about who lives in Otokylä today.
To do this, we created a questionnaire designed to answer key questions about our residents and provide a channel for sharing thoughts anonymously to encourage honest feedback about life at Otokylä and ideas for improvement.
What did we learn?
The survey received 134 responses, representing 22.6% of our residents. Most respondents were women, followed by men and non-binary individuals. The majority came from Northern Finland (72.7%), with 10.2% from abroad and 17.2% from other parts of Finland (percentages based on 127 respondents who answered this question).
Overall, residents rated their experience at 8.2 out of 10, with customer service earning the highest marks. We also received plenty of constructive feedback and positive comments—some of which have already influenced improvements, including the design of our new website.
”When we decided to conduct the resident survey our aim was to simply learn more about our residents and create a channel where they could share their thoughts anonymously. The results proved invaluable, and we’re committed to making this an annual tradition—keeping communication open and ensuring residents’ voices guide our decisions.”
Looking Ahead
Based on the success of this survey, we plan to make it a yearly tradition. This ensures residents always have an open, anonymous way to share their thoughts and help shape the future of Otokylä.
